I’m Eben — a designer and front-end engineer based in Paarl, South Africa. NextWave is a solo studio, not an agency pretending to be small.
I started building websites in 2018, went freelance full-time in 2022, and have shipped more than fifty sites since. Every brief comes to me— design, build, content, deployment, the week-one fires. Starter sites ship in 3–5 days, Business in 5–7, E-commerce in 7–10. Bigger or more complex briefs (custom integrations, multi-language, large content migration) get a custom timeline at the start of the brief.
Yes — most of my pricing is ZAR-denominated, but I work in USD, EUR and GBP. Roughly a third of my clients sit outside the country. Time-zone wise I'm GMT+2, which overlaps most of Europe and the US East Coast for live calls.
No. Everything is hand-coded in HTML/CSS/JS or Next.js. Page-builders look fine on the surface, but they kill your page-speed scores, lock you into one host, and make SEO a fight. Custom code stays fast, easy to edit, and friendly to Google.
I'll deploy your site to Netlify or Vercel (both have generous free tiers), point your domain, and set up the email-forwarding side. If you want a managed mailbox (Google Workspace or Microsoft 365) I'll get that connected as part of launch.
Every project ships with at least one month of support included — content edits, small layout tweaks, bug fixes. Business gets three months, E-commerce gets six. After that, ad-hoc work is billed at an hourly rate or you can move onto a small monthly retainer.
Yes — for Business and E-commerce builds I include a CMS (usually Sanity, Shopify admin, or a clean WordPress backend depending on your stack) so you can update copy, add products, and post new pages without touching code. You also get a 20-minute screen-recording on the bits you'll actually want to change.
